For
many years Joyce has been painting nature around her. As well as large works
she also paints miniatures. She was appointed a full member of the Royal
Miniature Society in 1988, was honorary secretary and vice president of the
Society of Women Artists for 15 years. In 2010 was elected to full
membership of the Society of Botanical Artists.
Joyce
usually paints wild flowers accompanied by butterflies and birds. Her
inspiration is found whilst walking on the North Downs, and tries to cover
an area of six miles daily, when she is not painting. Her miniatures are
always painted on vellum.
The awards Joyce has received for miniature
painting are with the Royal Miniature Society, the Llewellyn Alexander
Gallery (where they are on permanent display) and others. Exhibitions
include Miniature Art Society of Florida and Georgia, Prinz Albert Gallery
Coburg Germany and SAMAP Chateau de Bernicourt, (Roost-Warendin France) etc.
